RE: caulking express derailed

I was able to order both geocell and parbond from the Lance dealer in Stanton California. I gotta tell you though, the parbond was a real pain to get. It took something like two months because it had to be shipped in a special hazards truck. http://www.americancampersandtrailers.com/locations.htm

2008 Travel Trailer Thor Sonoma 22CK

Any thoughts on this trailer? (2008 Travel Trailer Thor Sonoma 22CK). It is the perfect floor plan for my family. It looks like it can be had brand new for under 11K. One thing that bothered me a bit is the fact that it only uses 14" wheels, is this normal for trailers? Anything to look out for on these? PDF LInk of trailer Thanks, MC

Pulling A pop-up trailer w/ TC

Anyone ever do this? Is it more of a pain than just pitching a tent? We are a family of five and my girls are too young to tent by themselves, so I thought I would buy a small tent trailer for when the entire family comes. I would love to buy a lance 830 with the tent option but for 20K+ I think I could find a cheap pop up and eventually have a trailer for the girls and a tc for my wife and I. What do you think? To much work?

Might buy a trailer

So I currently have a lance truck camper on a 2500hd truck. I have a family of 5 and we are getting a bit tight so we are thinking of getting a trailer. Some questions I have: What do you guys usually budget for maintenance on these things? Does it take much time to set up a TT? I found this camper and it seems to fit what we are looking for size and floor plan wise Trailer Does this seem like a fair price, are Komfort trailers any good? Thanks for all of your help

RE: Tires.. what would you do..

On my 04 I too switched out the stockers to a 265 BFG AT. Per my GPS my speedo is now dead on with the slightly bigger tires.

RE: Kayak(s) on the roof?

I carry my two Kayaks on custom racks I built for my small Carson trailer.. My rack sits just above the trailers rear gate. It works out perfect. I carry the boats on top which leaves me room for firewood and other camping toys in the trailer.

RE: silverado diesel VS new hybrid

My 6.0 does fine with my Lance. Does the Hybrid eat up any cargo capacity?

RE: Family of 4?

We sleep 5 in my short bed lance. My twins on the dinette (they're 3) and my oldest on the bunk (5). Wife and I in the cabover. That being said I may be buying a small tent for myself to sleep in :)

RE: Would your Momma camp in a TC?

My mom thinks it's great, for me that is. Her idea of camping is renting a cabin for a week. Oh well I still lover her. Happy Mothers day to all of you moms.

RE: Kayak rack on an Artic Fox 811?

I ended up buying a small utility trailer 8x5 to carry my two kayaks on. It comes in handy to store wood and bikes too. I just built a rack for the trailer which left me with a bunch of useable space inside the trailer. I wouldn't want to hoist a kayak on top of my camper, much too much work.

RE: Update on purchase: Sales tax on used TC

You could always wait for a better 06. If the used camper is simply dirty and in need of a deep clean then I would go the used route. If it's got a bunch of things ruined that can't be cleaned I would probably opt for the new one and see if you can negotiate a better price for the add ons you need/want. That being said a bought a ten year old lance, cleaned it up and changed the bed, and a few other things and couldn't be happier with my used buy. It's totally a personal decision

Do you have any interior pics, I'm interested in seeing that tent extension. Looks very cool. Mc

RE: Miss Inside Shower?

I use the outside shower for dirty kid feet and to hose off. I have only used my inside shower once. It was nice to have, but I wouldn't consider it a deal breaker. Is the toilet a port-a-potty or does it go to a black tank? If it didn't that wouldn't work for me. Just my 2 cents....

RE: Camping in camper shells or toppers?

My wife and I did it in my 97 Dodge. This is how we camped until our kids came along. I put down a bedrug liner. It was great! Really great for short trips and quick overnighters.

RE: Old question but good for the newbies out here

I normally don't stabilize when on the truck. But when I do I lower my jacks just enough to touch the ground. You have to be careful not to lift the truck up when the camper is connected. One time when I was parked on un-level ground I had to unhook all of my tie downs and than I leveled/stabilized with my jacks.

RE: Air Lift compressor with Firestone air bags?

I have an Airlift compressor and firestone bags. I have the load controller II though, not the wireless controller. Mike
